'To discover unseen things, beneath the obscurity of natural objects, and to arrest them with the hand presenting to the sight that which did not before appear to exist' - Cennino Cennini - Book of Art. Tony Healds current work focuses on the notion of discovering the familiar, the overlooked and unnoticed views of our surroundings. His drawings are expertly executed images of the city of York, the Yorkshire Dales and other obscurely familiar sites in the county. The drawings evoke a sense of the place, almost comforting in their familiarity. |
